The 2021 IASJ Research Conference, 12-14 November, Leiden, The NetherlandsÂ

The IASJ and ACPA, the Academy of Creative and Performing Arts of the University in Leiden, are hosting the conference. The main focus is on ‘applied jazz research’: research that is strongly connected to jazz performance and jazz education.
Â
The IASJ Board has approved the budget. ACPA will request 'Leiden Marketing' for support of the budget in order to invite speakers.
One of the goals of the conference is to create content for the IASJ Jazz Research Journal. The journal will be published by Grand Valley State University Libraries in Michigan, USA. A search is going out for the editorial board.
The conference takes place in the 'Nieuwe Energy' (indeed, the 'New Energy') in Leiden. The Royal Conservatory in The Hague invites the participant to visit the new building and enjoy a buffet on Saturday 13 November. Professor Paul Craenen will talk about ACPA and students of the jazz department will perform.
The conference is now open to receive proposals for papers, presentations and discussion topics. Do you have a master student that did an excellent research as part of the master studies? They are welcome to present their work as well.
