About keynote speaker Jack Hues

The organizers are excited to have Jack Hues as the keynote speaker. He is the lead singer and guitarist from the iconic '80s pop band ‘Wang Chung’. Hues hit song ‘Everybody Have Fun Tonight’, along with many other hits, helped to define the era.

In his pop songs, Hues seamlessly weaves a great deal of harmonic, melodic, and lyrical sophistication into the genre. Furthermore, he composed for film, most notably for the powerful and gritty 1980s crime drama, ‘To Live and Die in LA’, by William Freidkin.

In the past 20 years, while still touring and recording with ‘Wang Chung’, Hues has released recordings in progressive rock and jazz, which have ventured into the experimental and the avant-garde, all at the highest levels of artistry. He is a truly unique, and very rare artist, one who has successfully crossed over into different genres over an entire lifetime of creative work.
